I'm a bit shocked.. I had this stupid idea of googling "dancingelf" only to see on the goggle-images my photos being on blogs and other sites. WITHOUT my permission of course, no one has ever asked me about anything!!!!
I have no idea how to deal with it. Really, I'm shocked, never expected people would even like my photos enough to do that! :lol:
It's kind of a compliment and an insult altogether. Have you ever had similar experience? How would you deal with it?

Right now, the only thing I can think of is close my dA account.

Id say dont waste your energy. The internet is made for the free sharing of information (including images) so its too hard to police. I just dont upload images large enough for anyone to make a print off of so that way people can share images but if they want a decent size to do anything with they gotta come to me.

I'd try to stop it if I could, but if you can't then accept it as part of the cost of sharing your art. What are you really losing? It's more the indignity of the whole thing, right?

ALSO put your own watermark on your art. If you emboss a long watermark using a short font it doesn't look bad, even if you put it right across the middle of the photo. I'd show you an example, but my gallery is returning a dA System Maintenance screen. :\

I would talk to the people and tell them that this is a copyright infringement and go from there. You don't want to hide your art from the world removing it from DA is not the answer.

It's happened to me. I send a stern email, and in most cases the offending image has been taken down. Watermark, tine eye and google alert is your friend. :)
